Find More Energy – How Work at Home Moms Do it All

by admin on September 26, 2009

Lacking energy? If you are a Mom who works from home you are all too aware of the need to find quick boosts of energy. Work at Home Moms have added responsibilities of managing many, many tasks and balancing those tasks into her life. Work at Home Moms will find their work efforts and their success increase as they find ways to add energy boosting activities into their day.

Try some of these suggestions and find the refreshment you need to be more productive once again.

10 Activities to Boost Your Energy:

1. 15 minutes of uninterrupted relaxation - no lights, no sound, nothing but peace.

2. Drink plenty of water. Our brains become "fuzzy" as we allow them to become dehydrated. Have a nice cold drink of water near you at all times.

3. Deep breathing - as much your brain needs hydration it also needs fresh oxygen. Re-energize by getting more oxygen up to your brain. Deep breaths inhaled and exhaled slowly not only accomplishes the need for increased oxygen levels in your body but it relieves tension, as well.

4. 15 minutes of brisk exercise. You may think you are too busy to take a break but likely it will be the greatest boost you will find for your production and creativity. Take a break now and go out to enjoy some fresh air.

5. Find an incentive - something special just for Mom. Every Mom should have a list of things that would inspire and rejuvenate her. For some Moms it would be some peace and quiet and a cup of tea. For others it would be a chat with an encouraging friend. Start a list today and deliberately add something from that list to each day's "To Do" list.

6. Time yourself - set a time goal. Often we work best under a deadline. Give yourself time limits for each task and race yourself to beat the time you estimated it would take. You will be surprised at how much you can accomplish.

7. Chocolate - I had to add this one for my friend, Melinda. Chocolate is her reward for most things and she enjoys and savors it when she gives herself the reward of chocolate. Try it - you might find the same sense of joy.

8. Daydreaming or visualization - when you visualize your goals or allow yourself to daydream about the good things in life and in your children you reconnect with your reason for why you do what you do.

9. Relaxing music - let yourself calm down as you indulge in one of the senses that is often overlooked if you are a Mom - the sense of quiet.

10. Energizing music - in case you are short of sleep and might just drift off to sleep try playing some upbeat music to get your energy levels back.
